Review on Salomon Mens Athletic Water Shoes Hiking Black Sports & Fitness by Kevin Bucher

First of all I like the fit of all Salomon shoes, they feel like they are ready to wear out of the box. The quick lacing system is also a big plus! I have been using Salomon 3D variants for over 10 years. I also have hiking boots, other shoes and their ski gear and my wife and kids use them too. That being said, it's safe to say that the V8 version of these sneakers should be embarrassing for Salomon. In addition to poor tread life, every 3D shoe I've ever had wears out at the big toe joint for me. This area eventually breaks and the fabric opens up to reveal my socks. Salomon eventually addressed this issue with the previous version of the shoe by adding an extra layer of fabric in this area. It was great but I had to buy a few pairs. In the new version, this additional fabric is no longer available, and it seems that the fabric is cheaper and the sole wears out faster. The shoes were torn on both sides at the toe joints and the tread was almost gone after only 200 miles of hiking. It's really disappointing as the shoes are getting more and more expensive but the quality seems to be dropping? I think it's time to look for an alternative.
