The product arrived in a small printed box instead of the usual blister pack. The protector has a Super Mario design on the front. It goes very well with the 3DS and I don't see a rainbow effect yet. It has all the controls and ports to let you play the game, switch cards, adjust the volume, and insert and remove the stylus while it's connected. The packaging says it protects the 3DS from dirt and scratches, but not bumps, so a shock-absorbing case is still an essential addition. Also, the 3DS will not fit in the charging cradle when the protector is in place. The decorative cover is also made in the style of Super Mario. It consists of 4 perfectly sized pieces that attach to the left and right sides of the top and bottom screens, exposing only the speakers and controls. The leather is reusable and scratch resistant. However, I found the topic too colorful and distracting. If your 3DS has a Hori 3DS screen protector, you don't need a top screen skin. While the screen protector and skin set is a very well-made accessory for both protecting your 3DS from scratches and showing off Super Mario, I would recommend Hori's soft or hard protective case for storing the 3DS.
