Revainrating 4 out of 5

KFW is a specialist bank, no deposit and no branch but all and sundry with great and innovative ideas can access funds

KFW is a specialist bank. It is totally different from the usual banks commonly characterized by deposits and branches. KFW was established since 1948 and it was founded for the purpose of providing funds for developmental purposes and sustainable development.

It is a public company, owned by German government. As a matter of fact, 80% of its equity belong to the federal government of Germany and the remaining 20% belong to the federal state. As a result, it is obvious that the funds are governed majorly by the federal government and there is possibility that the federal government could influence decisions against funding.

It is note worthy that KFW has been supporting individuals, companies, public enterprises and public institutions that has innovative ideas that can boost the economy. It is also good to know that its services also expand beyond Germany horizon as other countries can also access the fund.

Pros
  • Its operation is geared towards the development of the country as a whole
Cons
  • The federal government is likely to influence the operation of the bank
