It took me a few weeks to connect to the cloud with this device. Culprit: SIM card from AT&T. For some reason AT&T (standalone) SIM card and data plan just didn't work. Tried several times with Black Vue and AT&T to get the device working. Black Vue tech support suggested trying T-Mobile and purchasing a broadband SIM card. I received a SIM card with a prepaid broadband plan. After inserting the card into the device, I followed the steps to connect but it didn't work. Then I tried to connect a second time and bingo worked! I'm not sure yet about creating an account with T-Mobile. I will be leaving the prepaid plan for a while. The only problem I have is that the camera randomly disconnects from the cloud. This may be because the Black Vue battery I'm using is dead. By the way, the battery of the Black Vue lasts quite a long time and allows you to not connect the camera to the car's on-board network. moral of the story. Do not use an AT&T SIM card. It might work for some, but with T-Mobile it was a no-brainer.
