Review on Amazon Basics 8 Foot Stereo Audio Cable: 3.5mm Male to Male – High-Quality 2.4 Meter Sound Cable by Todd Look

I don't normally like to give 1 star but I feel the safety of this cable is questionable. And if you feel that a product might endanger your health, it really deserves only one star. I bought this cable for some high quality headphones. The old cable was short. A few days of writing the sound was ok BUT the rest of the experience was painful to say the least. The ends of the cable are not properly shielded and can carry an electrical charge. Everything in the immediate vicinity will be hit. This includes (obviously) nearby metal objects, as well as anything that can pick up an electrical charge. In my case, this meant that if the end was anywhere close to my skin, I would get a searing shock. This happened several times, both in the ear area and in the neck area. To put it bluntly, the charge felt like a hair being pulled out. It took me a few minutes to finally come to the conclusion that the cable literally shocked me. I used spare tape to insulate the end and it seemed to work, but I'm not taking any chances with this product. As soon as I can get another cable I'll buy it. This is my first time using Amazon Basics and I literally burned myself. Not the best way to start a relationship.
