In all the years that I have worked with beeswax I have never had such a terrible smell of smoke. This is the first time I have taken the risk of ordering from an unknown supplier. Never again. It also doesn't look like 100% beeswax. Pure beeswax has a rich, sweet fragrance, a slightly sticky texture and coats the skin when rubbed between your fingers. None of that applies to this one, I suspect it has been diluted with paraffin. If you chew on some good beeswax and then chew on this crap, the difference becomes even clearer. And in my photo you can see that this product looks more like a drop of paraffin candle on the left as opposed to my batch of real beeswax on the right. Back what a disappointment.
