I bought this because of the good reviews and because it was a key lock not a digital lock. I've watched a few videos of other brands of locks that have a dial and are very easy to pick. So I bought this lock instead. It was a dollar more than the corresponding numbered padlock, so it's not a hit on the wallet. The lock itself is standard. The cable thickness is average. Scissors won't cut it, but a determined thief will likely carry some dams or other cutting tool. Laptop locks are a deterrent, not reliable security. If you're that worried about your laptop being stolen, just carry it around. In a normal area where you won't leave it for days, I would pick this lock. Easy to use, slightly daunting and makes me feel safe leaving my laptop strapped to my desk. A note. The laptop cable has a loop on one end, so you'll need to wrap it around something solid. The leg of a chair is not a permanent fixture, any more than the leg of a table. So choose wisely. 2 keys included.
