I needed closed toe sandals for my upcoming trips but didn't want to spend $100 or more on more expensive brands. Since I don't plan on wearing them every day, I went the cheaper route. I recently wore them rafting and was very happy. They are very comfortable and have great grip on wet rocks and dry ground. An adjustable heel strap is essential when taking off and putting on wet shoes. This makes the whole process quick and easy. I have tried the fixed heel models and they are too difficult for wet surfaces. I think they are a bit big. I tried them on at first and they seemed to fit perfectly, but after a while (and possibly stretching from moisture) I regretted not going half a size down. They were good but I tried adjusting the heel strap tighter so my foot was higher in the sandal. I also had to tighten the elastic laces and cut off the excess before putting them on for the first time. The plastic clip at the end of the laces was well designed and easy to remove and reattach. Overall I'm very happy and they held up well for a full day of rafting - they still look like they just came out of the box. I'll post an update when they fall apart after my next field trips.
