This is a smaller, more flexible bag that I like because it's easier to pack. The description says 'leather' but the bag doesn't have a tag with it, which I find unusual. I tried to test this by looking for an open edge so I could see the cross section. The only place I could find it was on the bottom of the handle, and yes it looks like real leather. One design feature that might justify its luxurious price tag is the fact that the *only* place I could find a raw edge was on the handle. I didn't find any raw edges on the rest of the bag. All seams and other connection points have been designed so that the edges are smooth. They were either folded over at the edges and sewn shut, or slipped into a pocket, leaving only the inner lining exposed. The texture of the skin is smooth and shiny. It really does look and feel like an expensive item. I like that it's smaller than my previous bag (same width and height but not as long) and that the bottom and ends aren't as textured. This gives the bag more flexibility and I can fold it up to fit better in my carry-on which I stuff a lot. I wish it had a separate inner or outer zippered compartment to store things like my toothbrush or razor.
