I like the idea of the Spurtle and really looked forward to using these. I treated them with mineral oil before my first use - as suggested. However, after using one of them a couple of times I realized it was a little harder to wash than I thought it should be. The texture on the "spreading" end, felt like it needed a good sanding! It felt rough enough that I think it would be difficult to keep it clean and sanitary. I may try to sand it to a smoother finish and then re-oil it. The wood is Acacia, so I thought it would be hard enough to hold a smooth finish. A little disappointed with it.
