Purchased two of these alarms for two doors in our home so that we'd know if an elderly parent wandered out during the night. They work very well for that application. Installation was easy. Followed instructions found in reviews to sync both remotes to both alarms (so that either of us could turn both on or off). Alarm is piercing -- nothing one could sleep through. Occasionally, one of us doesn't see the intermittent blinking that signals they're on and sets one off, but who doesn't need a whack of adrenaline at random moments?
