Review on High-Quality Frigidaire 5304507199 Freezer Door Gasket - Genuine OEM Part, White by Dustin Wright

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Here's what I did to successfully install it.

Just installed today and it seems sealed well and working great so far! (If I want to add any other relevant comments later, I will.) Here's what I did for a successful install: 1. I took it out of the box, put it on the floor, used a blow dryer on the stains, and twisted it . , so all the pieces were pointing in the same direction, and it was a rectangle. It wasn't perfect at the time, but better than when it came out of the box. 2. Removed the old one (I had to loosen a few screws on my model). 3. Put the new one that took some effort to install, and then put the screws back. 4. Close and inspect. I had gaps in some parts similar to photos I've seen in bad reviews. 5. I dried the places with cracks with a hair dryer. One of them literally closed when I dried it. On others, I've pulled it out to seal after heating it with a hair dryer. I did this with my fingers and in some cases carefully used a flat head screwdriver to pry it towards the freezer and briefly held it while using the blow dryer. Here it is. So far, so good. I can't hear air flowing in and out like I could hear with the old one that wasn't properly sealed. Hope that helps! Update: 1 month later and it's still working. No complaints! We are excited to be using our freezer again! Well 2 months later and due to a leak there is a small amount of ice forming on top. To be fair the fridge is about 15 years old. So instead of paying another $85 for a gasket, I ordered a new freezer. Will be done by then as freezers are on standby during the pandemic.
