It’s a desk pad. Doesn’t do much except lay there. But the size is good. Plenty of room for a keyboard and mouse. Good thickness. Gives a slightly softer surface, but still firm enough to write on (if you’re into that). I use it at work, and it replaces my mouse pad. It also gives me slight sense of organization. I find I lay certain things, like pens and cellphone, in certain places around the edge of this thing. I don’t use the red side, but it looks fine if it fits your decor or taste. It’s a slightly darker, muted red and not visually "loud”. So, if you’re looking for a desk pad, this is a fine choice.My only suggestion for use would be a little double sided tape to hold it still. In my case, it slid around a little. That’s probably the fault of my desktop, and not the pad. I put a little under each corner and it’s perfectly fine.Also, it ships rolled up pretty tightly. When you get it, unroll it and try to find a sunny window. Lay it there, black side up, for a day or two. It will flatten very nicely.
