I bought this to take my large makeup brushes with me when I travel to an event like shower, wedding or cruise. It's big enough for long boutique brushes with thick handles. These are the ones I love when I have to dress up. I put 17 spare and travel brushes of various sizes in it, and there's still room for more. There you can place some cosmetics. When I'm not traveling I use it to store my brushes, I don't use it every day. The case is 8.75 inches tall - more than I expected. There are 8 straps to hold the brushes in place. The lining and stitching of the case are well made and the zipper gives the case a luxurious feel. certainly not.
