Easy assembly. It works with my 1TB Toshiba SATA HDD which I replaced with an SSD. It connects to my PC's USB 3.0 port using the included USB (3.1) cable (since one end of the cable is USB Type A and backwards compatible). It was immediately recognized and deployed by Windows 10 (64-bit). The bare hard drive was easy to insert (rather slide and snap into the SATA connector) and secure to the case with 2 of the 3 screws provided, and then slide the outer case and secure with 2 of the 3 black screws provided. It has a handy stand that allows you to place it sideways vertically, which is good because the SATA drive's temperature will rise during operation (it's ok if used as a backup or to transfer files to other computers ). I worked for about an hour while backing up my PC's data drive (also 1TB containing about 40GB of data) to it with Macrium Reflect and there wasn't much temperature change inside the case (hand felt). It comes with a power adapter to power the hard drive so it doesn't draw power from the PC's USB port.
