I LOVE this item. I have polished concrete floors and I just walk him around on the floor and he collects a lot of stuff. I only washed it once. When I washed it the "flakiness" was gone, but it still rises. I bought it a few months ago. I go outside and knock it off by banging it against the house. It's like beating a carpet. Dust and hair fly away at once. I've found that washing doesn't get rid of everything. I have a golden doodle and his shedding is more like fluffy balls of fur around the house. This thing is amazing to collect them!
