These are ideal to fold over the top of my boots. I needed this as the boots I have are mid leg high and dig into my skin causing deep indentations. The knit is a loose weave so they got larger as the day progressed. After being washed they returned to original size. The two buttons are a nice accent. Best worn with skinny jeans or leggings. Not so sure they would work with ankle boots as the leg section is quite long so they would probably end up being bunched up under your foot.
