I applied this to the volume control of the synthesizer section of my analog mono drum machine. After using the box the first five times I had to twist the knob back and forth to get the crackle out before I started playing but then it suddenly came on or something because now it works like a charm and every a a bit of my (frighteningly loud) crackle is gone (having been like this for at least a year or two, maybe longer). Then I plan to try this to slow down a knob that I stupidly got too loose with a regular commercial thermometer/lube (DO NOT DO THIS WITH YOUR AUDIO DEVICE). It's different with a new name.
