Summary: Previously ordered a 50kg scale to measure things around the house. It was found that for odd-numbered items, the cradle trick did not work with and without the item (exceeded maximum weight rating). The 660 lb/300 kg scale does not have this problem. Observations: As a test, I measured a large wooden branch on my terrace. I did not set the weight of the white line to zero (TARE). The scale read 55.44 pounds / 25.2 kg. I then weighed the log and myself, 205.48 lbs/93.4 kg. We switched to a digital floor scale and the total weight was 205.6 lbs / 93.45 kg. And my body weight was 68.36 kg. If you subtract 205.6-150.4 = 55.2 lbs / 25.09 kg, you get what the log weighs on the scale. In general, according to the manual (for this model), this is within the tolerance of 0.1 kg / 0.2 lb. Recommendations: 1) When I put in 3 "AA" batteries, I noticed that the battery compartment is not fixed, and when you remove the batteries, you can slide the compartment up. I opened up the scales to get more slack in the wires and then I was able to pull the tray out and then insert double-sided tape to hold the tray in place. 2) The manual doesn't say where the rubber grommet goes, but I assume it goes between the top bracket and the U bracket. To prevent the grommets from falling out when the U-bolt is removed, either for storage in the box or during use; I've added a zipper that's loosely attached so as not to cut the rubber, which is great for keeping the grommets from falling out. 3) Interesting note: the load cell in the scale is marked 400 kg/880 lb; Haven't tried it and probably wouldn't. Pros: good fit and finish; aluminum case/housing; Batteries "AA" x3; strong clamp/hook. Cons: Battery compartment was not attached to case, pulls out when batteries are removed. Conclusion: 5 stars for $28 (even with a small quality issue). Related Items: HEETA 110lb/50kg Waterproof Backlit LCD Digital Scale $24
