Poor quality tape.
This unicorn is a very nice addition to my sewing set. The tape is easy to read, the retraction is fairly stable, and the swollen tail is easy to hold. Unfortunately, even on both of the ones I've bought, the ribbon has frayed. The material just isn't that great. After very infrequent use, the edges of the tape are frayed. A better bond would have made them the lifelong ones they were meant to be.
