My bus was originally fitted with the EverPure ADC filtration system. I had to break the piggy bank to pay for the first one. Many places I visit have well water and no one knows if it is contaminated. The filter offers protection against cysts such as Giardia lamblia, Entamoeba histolytica and Cryptosporidium parvum, some of which can survive chlorination in a fresh water storage tank. The 0.5 micron carbon filter eliminates chlorine taste and odor and also removes VOC contaminants. There are other filters on the market at a lower price but they only filter down to 1 micron. I can't tell you if that matters because I'm not an expert. I have an RV partner who got giardia and it took him 4 years to get rid of it! As a National Science Foundation (NSF) International Standard 42 Class 1 filter, I feel more confident. Cheap INHOUSE filter systems do not have CYST protection as they are intended to be maintained by the water treatment plant. Each filter serves as my permanent residence for a year and a half. I only change the filter when the water flow is reduced to the point where it drips. Also filters out mold, algae, asbestos fibers, oxidized iron, manganese and sulfides. what else can i say it's a priceless c. parvum is considered to be the most important waterborne pathogen in industrialized countries. It is resistant to all practical levels of chlorination and survives 24 hours at a free chlorine concentration of 1000 mg/l. Giardia cysts can survive weeks to months in cold water and therefore can be present in contaminated wells, water supplies, and mountain streams. They can also be found in urban waterways and persist after water treatment, as cysts are resistant to traditional water treatment methods such as chlorination and ozonolysis.
