There is a lot to like with this tank-top shaper. The top portion is made similarly to one of those stretchy, pull-on bras. It has decent compression and offers light-to-medium support. I have worn it in place of a bra with tops that require a tank underneath and it worked well for me, and is way more comfortable than wearing a "real" bra. Light-to-medium support is fine for me; if you need full support, you may want to pair it with a stronger bra underneath. I also like this shaper in place of a bra because there are no bra lines showing under my clothes. ummmm, where the bra squeezes into my back fat. Sorry for that mental picture, but this tank prevents that from happening, which I love. The portion of the tank that goes around my torso clings to my body well but is not constrictive. I would say this part offers light tummy shaping. It doesn't ride up, which I appreciate.I am not a fan of the pads that came in the bra cups, but luckily they are easily removed. Some ladies might like the definition and the smoothness the pads provide, but for me they didn't fit my larger bust very well and the lines they made showed a little bit through my clothes. Look inside the tank and you will see two small slits that have been sewn into the inside of the cups; the slits aren't very big but they stretch to open up more, and the pads just come right out with a light tug. You can also put them back in if you change your mind.Overall I really love this shaper tank. It is a comfortable alternative to wearing a bra and gives me a smooth look under my clothes. I have machine washed it and hung it dry, and it comes out like new.
