I was trying to save pennies with Melitta #2 filters. They worked fine. However, after that box was gone and I returned to Technivorm, I was amazed at how much tastier my brewed coffee was. I've never had a problem with any filters falling apart or anything like that. Melitta filters are slightly thinner and must be removed from the basket after brewing. The Technivorm is thicker, and simply flipping the filter basket over the reservoir will spill the bottom and filter everything as a whole. So if you can afford a slight price increase compared to Melitta, I really recommend these filters.
