I bought this at the risk that it would help my son who has learning disabilities and possibly dyslexia. He needs his teacher to read him tests, so I thought maybe he could use that instead and become more independent. Unfortunately my 9 year old son has too many ADHD and other issues to tolerate. He wasn't very good at carefully selecting specific lines, nor was he very good at understanding what was being read aloud in digital language, although I felt it was pretty clear to me. This device is intended for children who may have reading difficulties, but it is desirable that they do not have other attention or concentration problems that could distract their attention. It ended up being more of a distraction for my son. Luckily, the company has a one-month return policy where you can get a refund if the pen doesn't work for you. So it's very expensive, but at least you have a chance to try it and get a refund if things don't work out. I would highly recommend this for people who are visually impaired or dyslexic but are otherwise mature and able to use technology responsibly.
