I have 40" hips and a 29" waist and the h*ck that is my jean-buying existence is finding pairs that fit without gapping at the back of the waistband. These, I am deeply pleased to say, do not do that.I'm 5' 3" so these do go all the way to the ankle on me, which is fine, they're tapered enough through the calf that they still look cute. The threads across the distressed knees did pull a bit taut anytime I bent my leg, but I just cut those out.Washed in cold & dried on medium heat, no noticeable shrinkage. Fabric has a good amount of stretch without feeling like jeggings, super comfy and gives plenty of leeway to wear over tights or leggings in cooler weather.I normally wear a US size 8 in jeans, the Medium in these fit me perfectly.
