I hadn't skated in over 10 years and decided I wanted to start again for fun. I bought these pads for protection as I didn't want to hurt myself. I only use knee pads and wrist pads. The first day I got out, I rolled over a branch and flew forward. It went very fast, but I felt nothing as I landed on my hands and knees. ! I was and still am excited! I got up immediately and started riding again. I had no injuries, no pain in my knees, scratches on my hands, etc. and I fell badly. I'm an adult and this was one of the best purchases I've ever made. They are also very comfortable. The knee pads slide up the leg and then attach with Velcro. The lining is thick. They stay in place and don't cut the back of my knee even when I ride up and down hills.
