I fell for active noise cancellation. It is completely ineffective. The noise from a laptop fan, refrigerator, hoods, and other appliances does not let forth a single drop of water. Within the application, there is a dial that may be turned to adjust the amount of noise suppression. If you unscrew it all the way, the headphones will begin to make their own hum or noise, and any outside sounds will not be eliminated even if you do this. In most cases, noise reduction is accomplished by doing things in the opposite order. Hence, purchasing these headphones is a waste of money and time. There are a multitude of earplugs available, each of which has a significantly longer operating time at a significantly lower cost. In addition, the ear cushions on these earplugs help to muffle any unwanted sounds. However I have to confess that I found the inserts to be a great deal more practical than the plugs in my particular situation. After getting acclimated to it for a while, the sound will no longer strike you as odd, even if it does first. Nonetheless, plugs are the way to go for bass and sausage fans who want the best experience.
