I bought these to try and direct heat away from the wall vents they ran across - I wanted the heat to be better distributed, not an omnidirectional flow of heat. At first I thought oh how cool these are! They hold the magnets in place, look good, and are meant to be tough, so they should be able to withstand heat. Within 20 minutes the heatsink was turned off by the safety switch because it was getting very hot (thermostat setting below 70F). I removed 2 deflectors and found the plastic had melted and bubbles had formed in one. They would probably be good for air conditioner vents, but in my experience they are dangerous for heater vents.
