Review on Audio-Technica ATR2100x-USB Cardioid Dynamic Microphone: Unleashing Professional Sound Quality (ATR Series) by Ranjit Ghosh

I'm an unabashed Audio-Technica fan who owns at least four sets of AT headphones (M, R and AD series) and two AT microphones. Even I have to admit that the included desktop stand for this mic is the worst accessory I've seen in 2020. It is made of thin plastic that can hardly bear the weight of the microphone. It bends and deforms right out of the box. If you get this mic, do yourself a favor and ditch the stand. It's really that bad. I know you're not buying this mic for a stand, but buying this mic means you need to buy a stand if you don't already have one. Audio Technica has made significant cuts here in order to save costs. I hate to see this, especially since this mic's predecessor, the USB AT2020+, came with a sturdy tabletop stand, which I still use occasionally. Without this, the microphone itself is very good. USB microphones have certain limitations, but if you want others to hear you when you're on the phone, either this microphone or the USB AT2020+ will do. Keep in mind that not all USB microphones are created equal. This mic is in a different league from trash like the Blue Yeti Snowball. Instead of burning $50, spend another $70 and buy something that makes you sound good. Why? Because the microphone built into your MacBook is garbage and you need to care how you sound so people can hear what you have to say.
