Review on πŸ”Œ Enhanced Inline Ethernet Voltage-Current Testing with GEN2 POE Tester by William Dean

Enabled only if "PoE Device Simulation " is enabled on the switches

So far I've tested this on a few PoE network switches and PoE intermediate injectors that I have with very mixed results. The two mid-range 60-watt atomizers I tested with worked great. It turned on immediately without having to turn on the "PoE Device Simulation" switch. The Cisco switch I tested it on did not turn on or pass power until I turned on the Simulate PoE device switch. After turning it on, I was able to turn the switch back off and it continued to work. Another mid-span PoE injector I have (90W x 2), the Gen2 PoE Tester will not turn on or pass power at all, both with and without the Simulate PoE Device switch on. I emailed their support team but got an immediate response that they are closed until January 4th. I will provide an updated review as soon as I hear from them. Update December 31st: I got a reply from the seller and his PoE tester only supports Type 3 to 802.3bt and does not support Type 4. Since my PoE injector is Type 4, it cannot simulate a Type 4 device and turn it on. Also, it cannot signal for Type 4 devices.
