I couldn't find an inexpensive crimping tool that was actually made for US AWG wire and terminals/lugs, so I bought this one against my better judgment. But I was suspicious of hammer and hydraulic types for other reasons. I had to crimp terminal lugs on a 6 AWG wire. I ended up using a 16mm die on one jaw and a 10mm die on the other. This left burrs on the tips which I dug up and the mount seems solid but you never need a "stick" for the electrical connection. just a workaround, not acceptable for anything other than metric lugs and cables (if any). I don't recommend it (the cutter is good) and I don't recommend it for DIYers who have infrequent or limited needs. My biggest complaint is that this and dozens of similar crimping machines are sold for use with AWG wire and lugs. They are made for metric lugs and wire, not AWG. Close enough - bad compromise with power.
