I had two controllers - the first one bought a year ago for 1600+ turned out to be a Chinese fake, the second one was bought 3 months ago for 1800+ original. At first glance - not to distinguish, in fact - the difference is huge. Next, I will indicate the main points that will help you choose the original controller. The box is red, cardboard, with transparent plastic, the Chinese cardboard is a little thinner, you can’t immediately distinguish it, the original has a driver disk, the fake does not. The sticks, crosspiece and triggers in the Chinese version are gray, in the original they are black, in the color of the case. Backlight (around the X icon) in the original 4 evenly luminous quarter-circles, in Chinese - just 4 round diodes (noticeable only when connected). On the wire of the original gamepad closer to the usb "plug", there is a round connector - if you pull the pad, it will disconnect, part of the cord will remain in the computer, the Chinese one does not have this. The Chinese cord, by the way, is quite smelly, this was not noticed in the original. The reverse side of the original is black, fakes are gray. Behind the controllers are three stickers - a hologram, a barcode and a large one with information. The fake has a large sticker - gray, erased in a couple of weeks, and the hologram peeled off, in the original a large sticker - black, there are no changes in three months. The upper end of the original joystick is glossy, black, with the inscription XBOX360, the Chinese one is gray, without an inscription. Fake sticks are plastic, wadded, it is difficult to get used to them, sometimes they get stupid in games - this is the main disadvantage of a non-original controller. At home, the sticks are elastic, rubberized, they work a little harder, more smoothly and much more accurately, a similar situation with triggers. Windows defines the original as "XBOX360 Controller for Windows" and nothing else, the fake is whatever (for example, "XBOX360 controller", etc.) To date, this gamepad is the best controller for PC and I hope this review will help you distinguish the original from the fake and save your nerves and wallets.
