Review on Pollys Short Mess Birds Small by Miranda Montoya

I like both this mug and the larger version. My Sun Sparrow is an incredibly messy eater who prefers to grind up all of his pellets and then wildly toss his head back and forth in the dust until he manages to splatter it everywhere. When she has fresh fruit and veg, she happily tosses them around the cage like she's Jackson Pollock creating his own masterpiece on the newspaper below. When she used an ordinary cup to eat, all that junk ended up on the floor. I swept several times a day, and it's not an easy task when your parrots think brooms are evil monsters sent to destroy them. Now that we have this Mess Less Cup, only a small portion of the food ends up on the floor. It doesn't completely eliminate the mess, but these days I can usually get through a couple of days between sweeps. It also gives her a good place to stand when she's happy when I fill her food bowl with new treats. She sat right on the cup, sometimes getting aroused and dodging too soon (and often getting my hands instead of food). She now waits at the roost 90% of the time. The other 10% is when she gets bananas, and it's too exciting to deal with. In short, it may seem expensive to some, but it's a worthwhile investment. You can also use this with cheaper bowls (Lixit/Quick Lock Crocks - they're very similar to this bowl) that don't include a perch so you don't have to buy that more expensive cup and perch system every time you crack the bowl. I bought several Quick Lock ceramic nozzles that make it easier to turn dishes for washing.
