The new gaskets seemed too thick to screw the old valve fully onto the flanges. To keep the valve working I had to unscrew the flanges until there was a large gap between the flanges and the valve. So I bought a new valve and it bolted tightly onto the existing flanges and still worked. I recommend not buying new gaskets , but to buy a new one instead of the valve. A new valve costs only $7 more. Don't save like me. That costs more in the long run. Also, the new valves were a lot easier to install than trying to press in new seals.
