But I had a pint of strawberries around the time I got this peeler and I love how it works. I mean, who wants to lose too many strawberries that we pay so dearly for in the supermarket? I've tried being meticulous with the paring knife and circling around the green fortified area, but it's tiring. The only other option is to just cut off the top of the strawberry and lose some of the fruit in the process. With this peeler/heart cutter I can only cut a small amount of strawberries and remove the hard stone at the top of the fruit. Ideal! I haven't used it on the tomatoes I buy, but it also works well in that little hard spot near the stem attachment point. It's autumn now, so it will be more useful for my own plants to bear fruit next summer!
