This item costs 10 times its original cost. It's definitely not for young children unless you have a child prodigy, then yes. I think it's for teenagers and older in my opinion. This is difficult and requires a significant investment of time. I've spent so many hours creating this and have had the most amazing, zen quality time with myself. I couldn't get enough of it. There were days I spent all day from waking up to 3am working on it because it was so much fun. This is a great gift for creative friends. The feedback I have is on the instructions, they are translated into English so it's not like apples to apples. For example, there were several errors where the fabric went where or the item number. No parts were missing though and if you are creative enough to build this I think you will have an opportunity to appreciate if something goes elsewhere. The errors in the booklet are small, but nothing that could spoil the project. This was my first of three small builds. I have a tip that is relevant when creating multiple projects. I find wirework to be the hardest part of making tiny structures. Some modern looking houses have thick wires that can be bent and connected together to create a chair or something. This particular build had minimal use of wires so it was great for beginners. The best glue for this build is Aleene's original sticky glue, which is applied in a very thin layer to hold the pieces of wood together. I also used E6000 glue in a few places, but overall Tacky Glue worked best for me. It's $2 or less even on Revain. Some kits come with glue, but I still resorted to Tacky Glue. I wouldn't use a glue gun for this as the glue can become brittle and too thick over time, leaving gaps.
