Review on General Tools IRT207 Laser Temperature Gun, Mid-Range 8:1 Thermal Detector, Infrared Thermometer by Melissa Tucker
Inaccurate and inconsistent
The gun read 4 degrees Fahrenheit right out of the box. I tested it with two mercury thermometers and another non-contact thermometer. Readings were always low, fluctuating between 4 and 6 degrees. This device gave inconsistent readings at almost any trigger pressure at the same heat source and distance. I tested it using our freezer as the cold source and encountered the same issues.
