I have this "just in case". There have been a lot of storms lately and I am afraid that we will lose power. I love that this radio has several different charging methods. Solar panels on the top make it easy to charge on a sunny day. There is a traditional method of plugging into an outlet or charging that is simple and convenient. The crank option is useful when the battery is dead and there is no port to charge it. The crank part turns very easily and doesn't require much effort, which I really appreciate. The radio picks up the local station's signal clearly and the volume is easily adjustable. The sound for the radio can get quite loud. A very handy gadget in an emergency or even when camping.
