Amazing cable cutter. In San Francisco I have 30 channels. I'm only interested in Fox, CBS, ABC, WB and PBS. These channels are free and in HD, folks! Why are you paying $80-$100 a month? Can you really watch 200 channels a month? At the discounted price, it was only $50 more than the DVR+ I was considering. Given the hard drive, which I won't be upgrading, that's a minor thing. Just this week I was able to see the NFL on Yahoo on Tivo. Wonderful! I didn't even know that such an online channel existed. What to look for when choosing a DVR+ or regular cable DVR. Pros: 4 tuners vs. 2 DVR+ or one-time fee or no rental if you have cable now. Predictions: Regularly posts that he thinks you might like. So if you don't have anything to look at, check out the pieces on offer. The record shows what you like, thumbs down or thumbs up, and predictions get better. Integrated Hulu, Yahoo, Plex, etc. I personally only use the Yahoo integration. Hulu Plus is not needed as that is the point of Roamio OTA that covers it. An easily upgradeable hard drive that won't void your lifetime warranty. online channels. Look folks, if NFL on Yahoo is the future of TV, you don't need cable! You don't necessarily need a cable that costs over $100/month! 3 months plus or minus the payback period if you pay for the cable immediately. Cons: The lifespan of the product stays with the hardware and is not transferrable. To be honest, I'm sure the Bolt will be discounted with lifetime service until the hardware dies. Just a 500GB hard drive. I prefer at least 1GB, but I can upgrade later if I feel like 75 hours isn't enough. cost (possibly). For $15 a month it's a scam. For the $300 I bought it for, it's not. This is the current price of DVR equipment. It's not $250 for a lifetime as you can't buy a dash cam for $50. These are subsidized costs. You can't buy a $50 Tivo unless you're willing to pay $15 forever. Hardware is $300 with free manual and software updates. Think about it like this. Since cutting the cable 2 years ago, I've found that I don't miss most cable TV shows. I ordered Sling for ESPN, HGTV and AMC just to try it out. The jury is still out. For $20, the sling is great when it works. The only thing I missed was a DVR. Now I can catch all the late night shows I want without staying up late and all of Judge Judy's shows without leaving the house early. Tivo Roamio OTA is the best DVR with cable cutter. Provided you buy it with the included lifetime product rather than the monthly price. If you cut the cord, get Netflix and Roamio OTA and (possibly) SlingTV. Save your monthly cable TV bill, put it in a savings account, and every two years you should have enough for a happy vacation.
