Review on πŸ”§ Efficient Brake Caliper Pin/Bolt Remover Set - OTC (7302) by Cody Bowie

A tool not needed until you deal with a stuck caliper

I change brake pads, oil, alternators and belts myself. Some things are so complicated that they are not worth my time. But braking is still something I can do. I know it may take me a lot longer than others, but I like to get my hands dirty from time to time. I work in my father-in-law's garage. He used to fix cars and has a hole in his garage to get under cars and other things that a home mechanic is unlikely to have. Last time I had a caliper stuck and it took me forever to get it out. I almost gave up, but it took my father-in-law some time to tear it down. If I remember correctly the pin was damaged and I had to buy another caliper (I don't remember if it was possible to just buy the whole thing or if it was quick). When I was offered these, I was very excited. . Well I haven't had a stuck needle since I got this one. But I'm ready for next time! These are really reliable tools. They are lighter than I expected but still hold up to hammer blows. This set contains two currently eighty idiots. You can buy each one individually from Revain for about fifty trinkets. In other stores, a pair costs more than a hundred. I don't quite understand why you need two. Seems like an air hammer is the way to go if you have an air hammer. If you don't have a pneumatic hammer, save money and just buy a hammer. I like the hammer version better simply because I'm not sure about my father-in-law's air hammer. He thinks an air hammer can be used, but the hammer can apply force at different angles than an air hammer. So I think it's good to have both, but if you don't have a pneumatic hammer you should just buy one! I think professionals have such a tool, but not many DIYers. At the same time, if I had had them before my stuck caliper, the cost of calipers and extra time cost me more than the cost of those tools!
