I needed a surge protector with a long cord first, not just an extension cord. This product meets these criteria well. The guarantee is good for a review. The protection indicator is bright and clear, so you can see immediately that it is still working in surge protection mode. Two caveats about this strip: - The output cable has a low profile, which is great, but it's tilted to the right. I'd rather know that in advance, because if you plug something into the LEFT side of the outlet, the bend in the heavy-duty cord will subtract a few inches from the cord's usable length. The exhaust slits are very narrow. If you connect something to it with a built in transformer, you'll lose another connection or two.
