Very slow tablet, even after factory reset I still get game ads popups

bought it as it had good specs, it's very slow even after factory reset, I still get game ad pop-ups here and there, must be a custom version of Android. I can't get a fresh and clean Android to install on it, wish I had chosen a good brand and paid more
