Will fit my 1997 Nissan Hardbody. I had a problem with the original thermostat keeping the engine cold no matter how long I drove it. It will never cross the 1/4 mark. The gas consumption sucks, and in winter the stove never got hot. I removed the upper radiator hose, removed the power steering pulley and checked the old thermostat for a broken spring. It was undamaged, which was pretty confusing. I ended up putting both this and the old one in a pot of boiling water and watching the temperature at which they open and close. The old one was fully open at 150f, this new one was fully open at 180f. I had never seen a thermostat so worn out before, but the proof was in the pot. There is no gasket for these engines, so all you have to do is put a small ring of Permatex 22071 on the thermostat housing. Please note that when installing the thermostat, the hole and brass pin must be on top. The thermostat is difficult to align with the engine and falls out easily. So make sure it is in the right position. It takes several hours to use Permatex 22071, so don't start right away. All of my problems have been resolved and my gas mileage has increased by at least 3-5 mpg. Great detail. I would STRONGLY do without non-genuine parts for this machine. The Stant thermostat and similar look different, and all I've seen have smaller holes and much thinner springs. The original part lasted 20 years, I think exactly the same part will last another 20. That's enough for me and is worth a few euros more to me.
