This was my first needle felting project and kit and I think it's a really great kit for a beginner. Previous sculpting experience would probably be helpful and I recommend purchasing silicone finger guards. Lots of wool included, my hedgehog was about 5 inches long and 3 1/2 inches tall which was more than the package said. I even have enough left over to make another little creature! To put it mildly, this process is slow, it took me about 8 hours. I modified mine a bit, using the doll eyes I already had and made a dark brown wool nose instead. and I used some light brown for shading around the limbs underneath. I also chose not to make lace on the thread, they don't give you much flow. He came out adorable!
