I recently used an OctoPad XL and carbon fiber pole instead of a monopod or tripod to climb Moro Rock in Sequoia National Park. Trail 400 steps, 800 return. With this setup I was able to set it up and pick it up in no time. with a phone, a GoPro or even a stabilizer. The ball joint came in handy for spots that weren't quite as flat. Nice addition to my outfit. I am an Adaptable (Disabled, SCI/Paralyzed) Tourist for the Triumph Foundation. The OctoPad XL allowed me to keep my gear light and minimal without having to carry more gear and weight than I needed. The hike was for a $5,000 fundraiser called Superheroes Triumph! for people with spinal injuries. Members run, walk or ride like their favorite superhero. Due to COVID-19, participation this year is virtual or in person. This year I chose Sequoia NP and The Mandalorian. But he met a kindred spirit on the rock. "This is the way."
