I've had several hobbyist RC cars over the years - the kind where you can literally take apart and upgrade every component to make your Customize cars and costs a few hundred dollars. There are also cheaper ones that I let my kids play (and practice driving) with. This special Bezgar is a good entry-level vehicle into the world of RC cars for hobbyists. BENEFITS - Relatively large at 1/16 scale - Looks VERY cool at such a size - Fair price for an RC truck intended for hobbyists - Oil filled metal shock absorbers for a VERY smooth amateur-like ride - Metal drive gears and shafts - Feel massive and tough - Offers added durability and improved performance - VERY high speed (25-28 mph) and goes over most terrain, although it loses significant speed and power on tarmac - Whopping 21,000 - 29,000 rpm power! - 4WD allows him to get around. almost any terrain, including wet - Waterproof rating allows you to play in a small puddle of water (and heavy rain) without worry - - An IPX5 rating allows the truck to "resist long-term low-pressure water spray" - Simple, very patriotic livery that looks decent - smooth handling in terms of steering and power - charger and 2 x 1000mah li-ion batteries included so you can play for almost 3/4 hours --- bring a portable battery station to Charge spare batteries via USB (takes about 3 hours depending on USB power level) while playing with another - Remote control signal ranges quite far (up to 80 meters according to manufacturer) --- It uses a 2.4- GHz radio frequency, which allows you to work over long distances. 5 GHz --- Includes 2 AA batteries for the remote control --- Includes a pouch for batteries which the manufacturer says is "explosion proof" - Comes fully assembled - Speed limiter to adjust speed to driver skill level - Working LED headlights MINUS - Batteries total 1000mAh instead of 1500mAh giving a ride of around 40 minutes instead of just over an hour - The included charger can only charge one battery at a time although 2 USB cables are included for use with your own battery bank - compared to other 1/16 scale rc trucks which are currently $90 the price is fair although the parts are not as good as the aluminum chassis/brushless motors which are $300+ and up offer level enthusiasts. High speed can be difficult for many. Note, however, that there is a throttle limiter on the remote control to assist in decelerating the truck. Overall, this RC car is FUN for kids over 8. It is made of high-quality components, has an average battery life with a quick charger and can handle all types of terrain and high-speed ramps with all-wheel drive.
