Good product! Switch to this exchange for your high-volume tools today! I'm glad I did.

I've been using this coupler (and similar Prevost High Flow couplers) for about a year and I think it's excellent. A NOTICE! THIS AND ALL PREVOST SERIES E07 "HIGH FLOW” COUPLINGS ARE NOT REQUIRED FOR THE "1/4” Industrial Type aka Milton M Style” OR "3/8” Industrial Body aka Milton G Style "It's very important. Because if you expect this, you'll be disappointed. What it is is a "1/4" Body High Flow Interchange aka Prevost E07 Series aka Milton V Style" clutch. Please note that "coupling body size" and thread/coupling/hose size are completely independent of each other. I think Milton has a pretty good source to clarify this. why is it amazing - Prevost E07* (or Milton V Style) series couplers and plugs have more than twice the bore of "typical" 1/4" automotive or 1/4" industrial fittings. A large bore area reduces restrictions and allows for higher flow rates and improved air tool performance. You might not notice if you're just using an HVLP sprayer or topping up tires, but my air gun is on a whole new level with the 2x limit of 2 box magazines with 1/4" ports. The photo shows an end view of the high-flow adapter plug compared to an industrial replacement plug. The coupler body is little (if at all) larger than any other 1/4" coupler. My photos show the Prevost Safety ESI connector as well as the Prevost Safety ISI connector in my photos. This is especially important as it is a different coupler standard To get similar flow characteristics you will need to upgrade to a 3/8" body standard (e.g. Milton H Style/Prevost Series I08 "Industrial 3/8" or Milton P). Series Style/Prevost U08 "Automotive Standards 3/8"). The move to a larger body series makes the tools heavier, bulkier and more difficult to handle/move and use. This is very important to me as I didn't quite list as a benefit that it's not compatible with 1/4" body fittings so I can keep my oil mist hose with high flow couplers separate from my industrial coupler and is fitted with an air cleaning hose for tools that require air through at least one coalescing filter - the 1/4" NPT fitting threads right into the end of my hose so I don't need any adapters/couplings/nipples to make it work! - It is a "safety" coupling, meaning it will release the outlet pressure before it can be physically removed. Val connector. Since I place it right after the regulator, I can safely disconnect my hose without worrying about losing sight of the "hose whip". When the coupling is pressurized a simple push of a button depressurizes the connected hose and when the pressure is gone the hose can be removed. If you don't want to wait or never put a hose in a coupler, look for the ERC model (E for high flow, R for regular and C for coupler) instead - it's made by Prevost. Usage seems to be the gold standard for how clutches should feel in the hand, connect, wear, flow, release, and most importantly, seal. Legacy (which owns a lot of brands like Flexzilla and Milton I think) does decent stuff, but the build quality and design in all things Prevost is excellent. For example, instead of a simple plate, the bottom of the connector has a machined part with fluid paths to control turbulence and its effects on flow through the connector. Style) is great, but the quality, flow characteristics and ease of use of this particular device is outstanding. ESI 071253 designates E for high flow, S for safety, I for the "new" composite coupler, 07 for the O-ring coupler diameter, and then 1253 for this particular 1/2" NPT male thread. connector)

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
