Review on Thumb Spica Wrist Brace - Aircast A2 Support For Improved Comfort And Stability by Demetrio Lowe

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Pros and cons: my feedback

Pros: this brace held my thumb in the most natural position, compared to other braces I tried . Others held my thumb off to the side and made it more painful. This provided more wrist support than others due to the two metal support rods (removable).Cons: The metal rod that runs alongside the thumb was painful due to the way it's bent. Luckily, it is removable and by tightening the Velcro around the thumb area, I was still immobilized plenty. The remaining metal rod runs centrally along the underside and provides great wrist support. The green sleeve you see in the photo only runs along the top side – so, the base of your hand comes in contact with seams and can be a little uncomfortable depending on how sensitive you are. It's not very breathable ( aside from the green fabric area), but most of the really supportive ones don't seem to be. Overall, my favorite after trying three others.

Pros
  • Provides excellent support and stability to the wrist, hand, and thumb, reducing the risk of further injuries
Cons
  • It may be difficult to use the brace with gloves or other hand/wrist accessories
