I bought this to replace a MATECam A/V capture box that lasted less than a month and then died. Then it's DOA out of the box. Audio recording works but video recording does not. While the audio recording appears in the audio device chooser, nothing appears in the video device chooser. During the first plug-in (and USB installation) in the Windows window, three devices are reported: audio capture device - video capture device installed - faulty video capture device - installed. When connecting the set-top box to the Chromebook, the result is similar: there is no video capture, but audio capture works well. I contacted the seller and he recommended updating the driver on a computer running Windows 7. Again, I pointed out that this didn't work on a Chromebook and that updating drivers on Windows 7 requires a CD or driver update in the cloud. Also, the literature with this field indicates that no driver download is required as the standard drivers are used. In fact when I tried to update it just said "The best driver is already installed". So I'm going to send this one back. BTW: This is the second block I've tried and still no success with these encoder blocks.
