Review on Enhance Your Culinary Experience with the Ronco ST2000SSGEN Showtime Petite Rotisserie by Edward Noble

My skewer arrived on March 4th 2010 and worked as advertised, especially good for salmon and chicken breasts. This, as advertised, is perfect for a small house or apartment with one person or maybe two if they eat lightly. The only difficulty I had was that the non-stick wire basket was difficult to open and close. However, I've been using it for dinner about four or five times a week and have been very happy with the results. Then, about six weeks later, on March 19, the weld failed on the round protruding rod on the right side of the wire basket, which is inserted into the side hole for rotation. It annoyed me to no end. To make matters worse, the 800 (800-486-1806) phone number listed on the back of the owner's manual isn't a work number, and the email address ([.]) listed below it doesn't work either. It looks like Ronco was sold to another company after the manual was printed. My goal is to contact them, not return the product, just order a new wire basket, that's how high I feel with the oven. Conclusion: The wire basket is poorly constructed for a well-executed product. I will verify the new business owner's email address/phone number online. If I can't find it, or if I need an arm and leg to send me a new wire basket, I even consider spending more [.] to buy another oven, even though I only need a wire basket. .RECOMMENDATION: If you really need a very small skewer (sub-compact, not compact), are good with your hands and can open and close a wire basket better than me, this is a great product. As far as I can tell the compact lid is more durable and there is no need to use a wire basket. The only problem is that it's much larger, weighing 20 pounds compared to 8 pounds for the Shottime Petite Rotisserie. It's like buying a size 12 shoe when all you need is a size 9.
